Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For more than 25 years, Breast Cancer Awareness Month has drawn attention to treatment and prevention.

“Although many great strides have been made in breast cancer awareness and treatment, there remains much to be accomplished,” the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month website,, states.
Early detection is key to fighting the battle with cancer.  

 “Women age 40 and older should have a mammogram every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health,” according to the American Cancer Society website. Additionally, women between the ages of 20 and 40 should have a clinical breast exam as part of a health check-up every three years.
