PAC, Mount Mary University’s Programming and Activities Council, offered  commuters a chance to get involved and relax on campus. The Commuter Lounge behind the Cyber Café transformed into an inviting activity for all to enjoy.

Spa Day was held this December in order for students to kick-back before final projects and exams. The junior fashion merchandising student Karen White and Lissandra Lopez, a second year psychology and Spanish major, organized and ran the event.

“PAC does this every year. We were just chosen to take it on,” White said.

The offerings at this year’s Spa Day were zen gardens, a nail bar, courtesy of the Fashion Association, hair curling or straightening, a make-your-own face scrub tutorial and eye mask decorating.

“It’s something different and it gets commuters involved,” Lopez said.

The event drew a crowd of women who gathered around the television to make their face scrubs. Mount Mary faculty members indulged in the nail bar.

A facial-making station gave students a gift to take away and enjoy later.

Art Therapy graduate Sarah Bauer, a Spa Day supporter, discovered PAC’s Spa Day when she noticed the flyers hanging in the halls.

“It’s finals week for me and it sounded kind of fun,” Bauer said.

Don’t worry if you couldn’t attend and relax during PAC’s Spa Day this year. You may have a chance next year. PAC also has other fun activities planned for spring semester.
