Change is difficult to come to terms with. Over the past few years, my life has undergone many transformations. Some I didn’t choose. Some I did. I tried not to look back, especially with the changes that I chose to make.

Over the summer, I put in my two weeks notice to my job of three years. I had no job lined up, or even any leads. I was scared, but I knew it was the right decision. About two weeks later, I found an internship that was the start of my career. It was easy to stay at my old job, despite being miserable. But I had to make a decision.

So, “Here’s to the bold,” as one of Mount Mary’s mantras state. Be bold in every one of your decisions, as you never know where it might lead.

Do not mistake me

For the rain

I am not a miniscule

Drop of water

I am the lightning

Unforgiving and fierce

I decide to strike

The sickly trees

So young saplings

Can grow in their place

We must shatter our old lives

In order to root another
